Dom’s love of Rock music started at the age of 7. His parents noticed him constantly banging the pots and pans around the house to the point of driving the whole family crazy. It was time to get him some drum lessons. Dom was hooked from the first lesson. He played in bands, performing live shows from the age of 13 and was promoting his own gigs at a very young age.
Native Instruments Guitar Combos
To this day, Dom still plays in a rock band, performing gigs around Perth, Western Australia. After 20 years in the property business, Dom decided to take the leap of faith and open School of Rock Perth, believing it is exactly what Perth needs. His involvement in learning and playing music, from a very young age, is the reason he has forged long life friendships and relationships that he treasures. Dom says that the most satisfying and rewarding thing about owning School of Rock, is seeing how kids come out of their shell and become happy, confident and passionate young musicians who love working with each other. His love of music has also seen him become involved in the Concert Promoting business. Finally, Dom lives and breathes Music on a daily basis and is right at home. She started teaching four years ago and has since had experience teaching privately, in schools, and in various music academies. She has had over ten years experience on stage with over twenty drama, and musical theatre productions under her belt along with performances in short films and feature films that have gone on to be shown internationally. Mel was also recently in a show called “A Flat Circle” which she co wrote, sang in, and acted in. The instructors there were so much more than teachers for Josh, they were his idols and his role models. It has been an amazing time, and I know that as Josh gets older he will look back on all the memories he made at the SOR fondly. You have created something special there, and I hope you understand what an impact your efforts have had on the lives of these children.Thank you for everything!'
